Christopher Mason

Christopher D. Z. Mason is a South African producer-director who has written, directed, and produced more than twenty films, many of which are focused on environmental and nature-based storytelling. Over the past decade, he has collaborated with major international broadcasters, including Love Nature, BBC Studios, and ITV Studios, as well as producing independent and commissioned films. In 2023, Christopher worked as Lead Director at the UN Climate Change Conference COP28, making cinematic thematic short films for the conference.

Christopher holds an Honours degree in English Literature from the University of Cape Town and has published fiction in New Contrast, South Africa’s premier literary journal, and environmental journalism in The Daily Maverick. His short film The First Week (2017) screened at Cannes.
